My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love this sweet Christmas story, This Christmas by Jeannie Moon.
This is the first time reading a book written by Jeannie Moon and first book in the series of Christmas in New York.
I did fall in love with the characters, The main ones are Sabrina, Her daughter Charlie and Charlie’s Dad Jake.
Ten years ago Sabrina found out she was pregnant, she didn’t tell anyone who the father was, amazing she kept that a secret. She felt it was for the best not to tell the father Jake, as he was now in another relationship and had moved for his career in the Hockey.
Ten years later, Jake is back in town and helping Sabrina’s brother with some peewee hockey players and that is where he meets his daughter, yes he did figured out.
You will have to read the book to find out the rest of the story, but this is a wonderful sweet story to read. Made me feel happy.
The only negative was at the beginning, the author called her Sabrina and then called her Bree, took me a few pages to figure out who she was talking about.
What the book is about:
Single mother Sabrina Gervais has built a happy life with her daughter Charlotte in their eastern Long Island hometown of Holly Point. Having Charlie meant putting some of her own dreams on hold, but Sabrina is content to surround herself with family and friends, safe from the realities of the outside world. She had enough of that when the man she loved broke her heart.
Jake Killen’s career in professional hockey has brought him many rewards on and off the ice, but returning to New York brings back a flood of memories. When he sees Sabrina again, he discovers that he didn’t just away from her ten years ago, but also from their unborn child.
Struggling with anger, guilt, and chemistry that’s off the chart, Sabrina and Jake wonder if they can find love again and, this Christmas, make all their wishes come true.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series:
