Do you believe in love at first sight?

Allie McHale is spending this brutal Christmas Eve snowstorm in a barn in Marietta, Montana when suddenly she hears a horrible crash on the freeway near her ranch. She discovers a handsome lone survivor, a prisoner in handcuffs, and despite her apprehension about harboring a criminal, she rescues him anyway.

Jacob Reeves, on his way to Seattle to testify against his organized crime family, is miraculously saved by the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on, who has every reason not to trust him, but getting through a freezing Christmas Eve forces them to work together to survive.

During the long night, their chemistry is off the charts and Jake realizes that Allie could be the love of his life. But as soon as the storm is over, he’ll be gone. Is Jake destined to break both of their hearts, or will a Christmas tragedy end in a miracle?

My Review:

Her Secret Christmas Hero by Mallory Kane

The first thing that it ask on the blurb is Do you believe in Love at first sight? I was thinking yes, if it is the right person and you are supposed to be with this person, I do believe in love at first sight.

I really did enjoy this story, I loved how caring Allie McHale is with her horse who is about to give birth that she stays in the barn with her during a horrible storm. Well she planned on being alone for the night and had made sure she had enough rations if she gets snowed in the barn.

Allie was also worried about the highway near her ranch and the dangerous curve that someone could run off the cliff. Well of course she heard a loud car crash and then nothing. She went to investigate the scene, she was careful as to not get lost as you can in a snow storm.

Jacob Reeves was being driving by a Marshall to testify against his organized crime family. The Marshall wasn’t happy that he wasn’t home for Christmas Eve and was driving really careless and ran off the road. This was the accident that Allie heard. When she got to the scene, she found the Marshall dead and Jacob upside down.  She freed Jacob and took him back to the barn.

I did find the story well written and enjoyable. I liked the chemistry of the two, Allie and Jacob. I felt that she did what she needed to do to save the prisoners life and she also found out his story. She of course had no choice to believe him at this time.  I also loved the ending. I felt it was worth my time reading and enjoyed it.

I did receive a copy from Netgalley for an honest review.
